Jim Larkin

I had always wanted to try oil painting.  One day I was at the University Art Store  where I noticed the class being taught by Lee Hartman.  Two years ago I enrolled in the class hoping that it would “work”.  It did!  I have thoroughly enjoyed the developing skill (still in process, for sure) of painting. I am still working on the best style that fits me and find that still-life paintings bring rewards to me personally.  The challenge of portraits and scenery brings their finish with a struggle.  The one of the covered bridge came together with much of Lee Hartman’s help.  The sense of artistic talents – small as they may be – have enjoyment and happiness that has given my retirement an added blessing.
